Electric Fencing - don't over think it!1 April 2017 | Admin Electric Fencing – don’t over think it!It's Easier Thank You Think! Many customers become very concerned about selecting the perfect electric fencing barrier. We are always happy to help and get a buzz from setting up customized electric fencing solutions for each animal, owner and land. However, we always start by saying that there are usually several options that could work. Ultimately we are creating a psychological barrier, to prevent the animal from challenging the fence. After the first few zaps, we hope they will learn to stay away from the fence simply because it isn’t a nice sensation. So long as there is enough power on the fence, which means having a suitably sized energiser and having a conductive barrier (tape, rope, twine etc), then the bulk of the work is done! Tape will work and is safe for almost all animals, although it won’t last as long as twine and steel which can be used for the tougher animals like goats or pigs. Mains and battery operated energisers are all good – it’s typically best to have a mains energiser if you can simply because it is more cost effective, but all options work! If you are designing an electric fence, please don’t hesitate to give us a call and we’ll go through the options for you and your animals. It is probably far easier than you think!
