New Liveryman Phoenix Review 202422 November 2024 | Beth What is the New Liveryman Phoenix Horse Clipper Like?
We were excited to have a proper look at the new Liveryman Phoenix horse clipper this week. As expected, it is very powerful. It has something called planetary gearing, which is usually used in industrial machines. This means it has loads of torque and will easily get through coarse hair and tough jobs. The packaging and the attention to detail is first class. In line with 'green initiatives' across all the big clipper brands, it comes in a robust cardboard carton. However, it also includes a bag to hold your clipper, which is a nice touch and something we wish all the brands did. The blades have a snap on cover which is, again, another nice addition. And there is a proper little bag to hold all the extra tools. It seems like no expense has been spared on these details and Liveryman considers this to be a premium clipper. The clipper is reasonably large, by modern standards and weight approx 1kg. The barrel of the clipper is also on the medium/large side. I'd therefore say this isn't suited to somebody with weak or small hands. However, the weight balance of the clipper is excellent - it almost tips and falls into the right clipping position (intentionally so) which will make it comfortable to use, especially for anyone clipping multiple horses. The clipper is a fairly standard volume - definitely not the quietest in the market, but this is to be expected with so much power. The Phoenix comes with an A2 Medium blade (clips to 2.4mm) as standard. However, lots of people want to select their blades so at FarmCare we allow you to switch blades to one of your choice, including the very popular Covercoat blade (clips to 5mm) or the Fine blade (1.4mm). It is best to get the right blade for your needs! The tension system for the blades is fairly standard. What makes this clipper stand out is: - the excellent power - the extra attention to detail (the little bags, the blade cover etc) - the balance of the clipper; despite its size it is comfortable to use - 3 year Liveryman warranty, who are known for excellent after care
This clipper will be extremely popular for people with yards, lots of horses, horses with very difficult hair and for pros. If you are only clipping one or 2 horses with normal coats, I think you may prefer one of the smaller cordless clippers.
