We are often asked how long a set of clipper blades should last. Unfortunately it is impossible to give a definite answer, there are many factors that can effect the life of the blades.
We have got the following tips for looking after your clipper blades.
Factors that make your clipper blade go blunt:
How clean the coat is: a dirty gritty coat can blunt a set of blades in minutes.
Thickness and coarseness of the hair.
Regular oiling of the blades will keep them gong for longer.
How well they have been sharpened.
Lastly how well the horse clipper blades have been stored - rusted / pitted blades will not hold and edge as well as cared for blades.
