The Foal Alarm, from Gallagher, is the leading foal alarm in the UK.  It is a motion based, non invasive alarm that let’s you know the minute your mare starts having contractions.  It alerts you via SMS and you can have up to 2 phones alerted.  It is very reliable and is used by Stud farms all over the world.

There are two options of Foal Alarm, but the Foal Alarm Lite is by far the most popular. It costs £395 and can be re-used should you wish to have another foal in the future. The larger ‘Premium’ Foal Alarm costs £858 and can alert up to 4 mobile phones and has a ‘sleep mode’ setting which is useful for mares who sleep lying down. If your mare just rolls, or rests, you will not need the ‘sleep mode’ setting.
