Wahl is a leading brand in animal clippers.  The Wahl KM Cordless Clipper is a great option for anyone with a horse with 'normal' hair and dogs.  This is because just one machine can manage a full clip and trim on both your horse and dog.  Simply pop on the wide blade for the body of your horse, and the narrow blade for the more awkward areas and for your dogs.  The clipper is cordless, it does not need tensioning and it is light and easy to use, but has power comparable to the Lister Star.  It has more power than the Liveryman Harmony Plus or the Heiniger Saphir, but is a very similar machine.  It has 2 speeds, to give you more control.  And it has an impressive 3 year warranty.

It takes A5 snap on blades, which are readily available from a number of brands and in a number of lengths.  It comes with a choice of just the narrow blade (for anyone only using it for dogs, or trimming), or a narrow and a wide blade.  There is also a range of skip tooth blades means there is a larger gap between each prong, which is helpful for very coarse hair.
