If you have chickens, and want to keep them safe from the fox, this is the kit for you! It has everything you need to get you started, from your electric net, to a gate for easy access, to your fence tester for trouble shooting, your warning sign, spare posts for extra strength, a repair kit for the net and, of course, the energiser to power your net.  The energiser can run from the mains, or from a 12 Volt Battery (the battery is the only thing not included in the kit).

The kit comes with nets of 16m, 25m or 50m and the energiser with the kit is scaled up to a more powerful energiser to suit the different lengths of net.  The kit is made in the UK and is of excellent quality.  The energiser comes with a 3 year warranty.

Electric fences are safe for animals and children.  The idea of the fence is to keep birds safe while allowing them to roam, and to keep the fox away.  The net will not hurt the fox or chickens, it will simply give them an unpleasant zap so they learn not to touch it.  

Nets are very easy to put up and can be easily moved, once you get the hang of it! You can easily add nets or cut nets down, should you need to.  The most complicated part of a poultry net is making sure it does not touch too much grass or vegetation.  The bottom strand can touch the ground, but it is important to make sure the other strands are kept free or anything that can earth them (so, no saggy netting and no branches touching the net).

The net can be configured in any formation (even in a straight line), to suit your garden.  A fence tester is also included in the kit, allowing you to check the voltage on your fence.

If you are running the energiser from a 12 volt leisure battery, you may wish to add a solar panel which will charge the battery for you, saving you the time and effort of recharging your battery from the Mains.

This energiser is made by Hotline, right here in the UK. It can run from the mains or from a 12 volt battery, and comes with the mains adapter and the cables to connect to the battery.  The energiser will run off a 12 volt battery for approximately 4 weeks. The Gemini has a 3 year warranty.  The energiser is very easy to use and can be mounted on a wall or a post or on the supplied stand. It is designed to be out in all weather, but must be housed indoors if connected to the mains.  It has a light that flashes to let you know that it is working, and a light that flashes if the battery is low.

The Gemini 40 can power a multi-wire fence of up to 8km under good conditions and up to 4km with medium vegetation.  The Gemini 80 can power a fence of up to 12Km and a Gemini 120 can power a fence of up to 16Km.
