The Heiniger Xplorer clipper is one of the best cordless clippers on the market. The battery for the Xplorer clipper is in the actual handle of the machine itself, which makes it stand apart from other cordless clippers. Even with the battery in the machine, it only weighs 990 grams making it lightweight and very comfortable to use. The battery lasts for up to 2 hours of clipping. Includes 1 set of blades - YOU choose your blades that come with the clipper (don't waste money on getting the wrong blade).
Powerful cordless clipper that can cope with all the tough jobs for horses and is great for cattle for market/show clipping.
The handle is nice and slim and the main grip point at 15.2 cm (where the thumb and first finger sit).
The main part of the handle is 17 cm around. The clipper is 29 cm long not including blades.
The Xplorer is very quiet in keeping with all Heiniger clippers. Because it is a battery powered model it does not have the need for any ventilation - this is great as it stops all the hair and dirt getting inside.
Batteries :
This are Li-ion combined with an intelligent charger. This charger can show the approximate state of charge so you can have an idea of what is left in the battery. The fast recharge time of 90 minutes is great so with a second battery you could continuously clip.

It is always good to have 2 sets of blades, in case one goes blunt mid clip or one set needs to be sent off for sharpening, so please consider adding a second set.
If your horse has feathers, it may be worth getting a Coarse blade for the legs, and a Medium blade for the body.

Difference between Heiniger Xplorer and XplorerPro?
We are often asked about the difference between the Heiniger Xplorer and the Heiniger Xplorer Pro. The Xplorer is the best selling clipper and is perfect for anyone who clips regularly, on a non professional level. The Xplorer Pro is a newer clipper, with 2-speeds and a bit more power, plus a dial that lets you know when the clipper is in the correct tension zone. The Xplorer Pro is fantastic if budget is not a concern, but if you are being a bit more mindful, most people do not need the extras it includes. We have never heard anyone worried about the speed of their Xplorer, so the two speed option of the Pro can sometimes seem like more of a marketing difference, unless you are really keen on speed! The extra power of the Pro is handy if you are clipping a lot, but otherwise, the Xplorer has plenty of power and can handle all coats.

WE SAY:
A very nice clipper to hold and with the build quality you expect from Heiniger. The decent battery duration and fast recharge time makes this clipper a real possibility for busy yards.
Down side is that the clipper is fairly long so on small ponies you could find it a little awkward.
