The Heiniger Opal cordless trimmer is powerful and fast, yet quiet and with low vibrations. It has 2 speeds and can manage 3100 double strokes per minute in the fast mode and 2600 in the slow mode. It has enough power to get through even dirty and thick fur and hair.
The Opal trimmer has the latest in battery technology (a lithium-ion battery) which means it can clip for 240 minutes and fully recharge in an hour. The built-in battery indicator will let you know how much charge you have left, so you'll never be caught by surprise.
The Heiniger Opal is ergonomically designed and fits very comfortably in your hand.
This clipper is great for professional groomers, vets and for people who are clipping/trimming dogs and horses. It takes the popular A5 snap on blades, that are pre-tensioned and available in a variety of sizes. You can switch to a wide blade for larger areas (such as the body of a horse or a large dog) or to a narrow blade for trickier areas, like legs and around the face. It comes with a No 10 narrow blade that clips to 1.5mm. You can also add guards over this blade. to change the length of clip.
As with all Heiniger clippers, it is made in Switzerland and extremely well manufactured. It is top of their range for this style of clipper.

Add wide blades, blade guards or skip tooth blades for different styles of clips.
Skip tooth blades have less teeth and are good for animals with very coarse of curly hair (think coarse horse feathers, or a poodle's curly coat).
It is always a good idea to have a spare blade. If the blade goes blunt mid clip it is not a good look!
