This clipper is a great option for anyone with a horse with a relatively easy coat, because you can clip the whole horse with just one machine. Use a wide blade for the body, then pop a narrow blade on for around the sensitive or awkward areas. Plus, if you have a dog, you can use the clipper for them to - just select a different A5 snap on blade to suit your dogs coat.

The clipper is also great for anyone with nervous animals because it is much quieter than larger clippers, with lower vibrations. It is also easier for beginners to handle because the blades are pre-tensioned, and it is lighter to hold and manoeuver.

The Liveryman Harmony Plus animal clipper is the big brother to the older Harmony clipper. It's a good option for anybody who wants either a powerful trimmer, or a trimmer that can clip a whole horse (using the wide blade), assuming the horse has an 'easy' coat. It can run from the included rechargeable battery, or from the mains. This makes it a really good option for a person new to clipping with a horse with an easy coat, and also for professionals looking for a good quality trimmer.

The Harmony Plus uses the clip on type blades so there is no tensioning to worry about. It can use blades from Liveryman, Heiniger, Andis, Oster and Wahl (A5 type) so there is an enormous range of different blades available.

The brushless motor gives higher efficiency (hence better battery life) and also delivers a lot more power to the blade. This in turn makes for easier and faster clipping.

The Harmony Plus has the additional benefit of a built in battery so there are no wires trailing from the clipper to upset nervous animals. It will run from the battery for up to 3 hours. There is also a mains lead included, so you can run it from the mains if the battery runs out.

The Harmony Plus is very comfortable to hold, it is quiet and has low vibrations. You can select a wide blade if you want to clip the whole horse, or a narrow blade to get into the tighter areas and if you want to use this as a trimmer. Although this clipper can be used for full clips on horses with 'easy' coats, we do not recommend clipping a horse with a thick or coarse coat - a full size clipper would be better suited for these purposes.

If you have a lighter coated horse you need to clip occasionally this is a machine that should be considered. For anything more than an occasional light clip, it is worth looking at something more powerful, like the Lister Star.
