Electric Fencing Lead Out Wire

This wire is especially designed to conduct the high voltages output from the mains powered energiser to start of your electric fence.
We also recommend using this wire to connect the earth stake to your energiser. Electric fencing lead out wire can be used under ground to connect an electric fence across gate ways, drives and paths. When run underground, we do suggest that the lead out wire is protected in conduit - most people run it though a hose or blue alkathene water piping.
To connect the wire, simply strip back the plastic insulation and wrap the wire around your earth stake, energiser or gate hook.
If you need to join two lengths of wire, this is easily done. However, if you have made a join and then run the wire underground, please use an electrical resin box to ensure there is no electrical leakage.
Please note that normal household flex will not contain the high voltages produced by many energisers; this will cause power loss and a weak fence. Electrician's cable is designed to cope with 240 volts -your system will have up to 10,000 volts!
