Where ordinary white rope is very visible it can also spoil the view (or upset neighbors). Green electric fencing rope is a lot less conspicuous and is mandatory in some national parks.

Current thinking is that horses are colour blind and in fact see more by contrast so green electric fencing rope may be more obvious to them than it is to us!
